Program Description:

The Program

For a friendly campus in a beautiful city, consider the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth. This university of 13,000 boasts one of the most beautiful campuses in Australia; its open courtyards and Mediterranean-style architecture reflect the open attitude of the university's intellectual environment.

At UWA you'll find an incredibly involved student body with active cultural and sporting clubs. The university?s location on the Swan River makes it a magnet for rowers, and the beach is only fifteen minutes away. University Western Australia

The Academics

UWA's course offerings are vast, with a hands-on approach to learning. If you're looking for a university where you can get into a field and do research or studio work, consider UWA's departments of music, fine arts, archaeology, anthropology, engineering, and zoology.  You are required to take a regular full-time program of study, normally three to five courses each semester.

The Experience

Most of UWA's housing is in residential colleges that offer meal plans, so you'll have plenty of opportunities for making friends with Aussie students. Students who do not live in residential colleges will live in off-campus student flats.

Thanks to its hot summer, picture-western-australiamild winters, and location on the shores of the Indian Ocean, Perth is the perfect environment for outdoor living.  Australia's fourth-largest city offers students a relaxed lifestyle and great home base for exploring excellent nearby beaches. Surfing, hiking, climbing, biking, rafting - there is no limit to the activities available within easy distance of this thriving, friendly, laid-back city.
